After the startup of our first uv press in the late 90’s our press manufacturer had its own recommendation for ink. We ran for a couple of years with that recommendation. Having been called on by several other ink manufacturers in that time we felt the need to try some other inks that were available. One of those other manufacturers happened to be Joule’s. I can recall our rep from Joule’s sending in some ink for testing. At that time or operators felt that we had just recently made some improvements changing from our original ink that our press manufacture had recommended. Needless to say the Joule’s ink had been on our floor for almost 12 months. We had just taken on a project that had very heavy coverage and after fighting with this particular job for most of two shifts, I felt the need for some outside help for our operators. I then called our rep with Joules and was explaining our difficulties (heavy coverage jobs) when he asks if I had put his ink on the press yet. Before we went any further in the conversation our press was inked up with Joules. The response was how fast can we have more ink here. I will be honest in saying we have tried other inks since and will probably continue to test from time to time. To this date we have found nothing that compares. Joule’s has been our ink of choice for many years. In talking with our pressroom I can’t see that changing any time soon.
